Old Gore 10 week 2

Maxed out
Turbo Will Stamped his authority on Old Gore this week. Allegedly he had too much power left on the hill when he got back. 20mph was quoted up the hill. Not sure if that was all the way up or just for the spectators over the line.

Next week we will have the portable drugs inspector waiting for “Motoring Millie”. Where did that ride come from?

Having sold his TT bike, Mr P was using a set of clip on bars on a road bike, did you see those pistons for legs up the finish? Somehow he looks a little out of proportion, with legs the size of my waist

Last week’s winner was pegged back Mr Fallon jnr  a little this week with Maximus Suff tying with him. Will be interesting to see what happens next week.

First road bike home was hill climb specialist Adam Taylor with Gannet Johnny (no I'm not saying he eats to much) a mere 3 seconds behind him.

Now if I could get up those hills you’d all be in trouble. Little Fallon’s face was a peach when he saw just how close to him I was at the turn. Next week I’ll reverse the situation and let him chase me down. Fairs fair!

Nick this week had a very good improvement from last week opening the gap slightly with James, who had a good ride in my opinion. Virgil opened his season with a good banker time.

Our friend from the North Paul knocked 1:30 off his time, when asked about it he said” not so fast out, saving energy for the return leg” He did seem very pleased. John Airey looked good going out; in fact he looked pretty good coming back. The hill may have just taken its toll though.

Thanks this week go to Paul Fallon timing (was supposed to be riding), Tim John & Audrey at the turn, with Taff launching everyone towards Ledbury.

Rider of the night this week goes to Millie, a fine ride from a more senior rider…….

Next week will be an Old Gore for a change. We have no volunteer as yet, but will assume John & Audrey will go to the turn as they took the signs.

Hope Taff & Sarah have recovered from the 90 mile hilly adventure that turned into a 100 mile sprint.

I need some fresh pics of you all in action. If you have any email them to me.

Tuesday Night Social Rides Stopped Until Demand Returns

The Tuesday night social ride has had no attendees for the last couple of  weeks.

If demand returns we can start this ride up again.

First Old Gore 10

After what has been a long and cold winter, the first club 10 took place this week. A vicious diagonal side/tailwind out never really helped greatly out to the turn, but boy, did it let itself be known on the return leg home. Temperature wise it was not too bad, apart from the spectators who’d massed to support the riders feeling it more than the riders.

Little (If you call 6 foot little) Fallon picked up where he left off last year as the fastest rider on the night, a clear 30 seconds clear of second placed Racing Snake Stephens. Max Suff was a mere 2 seconds further back, to what could be the start to a season long battle brewing.

Nick P came home 4th with a very happy James "The Spinner" 7 seconds behind him. Richie babes was only 15 seconds In front of Gary Gas Tec who was having his first go  at Old Gore , could be another battle brewing!

Tony The Tiger living on top of a mountain should be one to watch on Old Gore in the near future if he starts training on his doorstep. Paul Middleton’s first TT must have been a shock on the return leg once faced with the head wind, but he looked to have enjoyed the challenge. Both he and Jean- Luc were very quick on the outward leg but energy management is vital in that sort of wind.

Rider of the Night this week has to be Fallon jnr, for an outstanding ride in the conditions.

Thanks this week go to Paul Fallon timing, Bill at the turn, and "The Destroyer" for launch control.

Thanks also to Bill & Taff for the Chip butty super, which hit the spot down the rowing club afterwards.

The surprise to Julie presentation almost silenced her, she was very moved to have received the vouchers as a thanks for her efforts to the club life thus far. She was quoted as saying “I now feel guilty about letting Paul Fallon doing all the timing tonight”

Next week it will be surprise surprise, an Old Gore 10, hopefully without the wind.

Race Calendar and Walford Reminder

The race calendar is available here.

As there is a landslide on the Walford course currently ensure you check the forum before heading to any Walford events.  It is likely we will still run the event but use the Old Gore course instead.
