Vintage Tankard 2012

Another VT has come and gone. In what looked closer than it really was once I’d done the maths, Ross once again stepped on the Top step of the podium. That should not detract from anyone’s efforts as the day in my humble opinion was quite hard with a cool breeze that I never really got a handle on about where it was coming from.
The last Climb up to the finish had several riders (including myself) doing track stands. Can’t understand it as that climb suits my strengths!

The old chestnut about the most suitable bike came up afterwards. Well initially I thought the TT bike was the right choice. Once finished, I thought the road bike was the right beast. Having checked my data from previous efforts the road bike felt better but the TT bike was 20 seconds faster. Next time its bolt on TT bars on the road bike!!!

Turbo Will was quickest on the day on the bike, but I was quickest getting the end of season beer.

Congratulations all who took part, you all made the event, which was a very friendly event indeed.

Time for a smile to the camera

We have a few pics, hopefully more will turn up. The battery on my camera started to fail so apologies if you’re not here, but a second batch should hopefully appear at some point.
