With the weather window being kind,
13 riders turned up for the 2012 Boxing Day 10. This year’s course had a water
feature to deal with as well as some mud and other debris, oh and I mention the
odd new pot hole.
30 seconds in and the pains already showing |
The good bikes and wheels were
advised to be left at home, but some felt they needed to test how well they
went through the natural water feature at Bishopswood.
Colin "The Power" Parry |
Quickest on the Day was Colin “The
Machine” Parry a mere 6 seconds in front Of “Turbo Will”, with Jazzy Streather
not a million miles behind.
Radders looking for a 2 up partner |
Julie using the sundial to time Jason |
In their own little slip streaming
battle was Marko Radders (thanks for the photo’s) and “Humming bird legs”
Fallon, who both assure me they weren’t doing a 2 up.
Adam T was almost faster than the shutter on the camera |
Warmed up nicely Adam T just missed
out on Fallon Jnr’s. scalp with Jamie only 6 second further adrift. Jonny Webb
once again made the monumental drive just for our company, oh and maybe the
ride.
Full lights and mudguards, along with the tinsel air brake just to give everyone a fighting chance |
I probably had the most un aero dynamic machine still dressed up from The
Holy run with lights and mudguards. Once again Ed from Hereford pitched up for
the lung buster chased down by Climb-on-bikes Andy. In his first TT Gary looked
like he’d found new pain levels, don’t worry about it as it hurts that much
every time, just you start to go faster.
“The Missile” got as far as the saw
mills before the effort required in that headwind made him decide to himself that he was feeling weak before
turning back complaining of not actually feeling well.
The Missile before apathy attacked |
Thanks to those that volunteered
there help for the event, as there were several of you, but a very big thanks
to Paul Fallon for the turn, Dave H pushing off and Julie timing. Thanks also
to those who went to the water feature, and Mark "The Hit man Carter" for the movie image with some great music.
Was it Iron Maiden?
Rider of the day was Gary. His face
told a story of the pain that had inflicted itself on him.
