Walford 10 May 21st

Another Walford, another debate about whether it was an easy or hard night. There was a slight breeze outward from the start line, but looking at all the times they look very similar to the past couple of events run here. Personally, I thought it was easier, but what do I know.
Afraid it’s a quickie tonight, got lots on at present.
Max on a mission
That Man Stephens did the bizzz, just edging big Bob out. Thanks to Max who made me work like a maniac for the return leg.  Adam took 3rd, and can get his own back when we get back in the hills. Radders is another we ought to be thinking about to see if he’s running EPO in the system. Ant P had a cracker, think we should also start drug testing him as well.

Our Nigel was 3rd Ross rider with a good gap to the next rider. Well done Mr. Doorman, great first ride, the potential is there! The Power still not tickerty-boo from being used as a brake showing he’s on the road to recovery and will have a new challenge in Mr. Doorman.
Bob looking faster stationary than when he's racing
I love seeing ties, James & Gary even, let war commence!

Talking battles, it’s great to see the youngster’s soooo close to each other. This could be a good (hopefully friendly) battle to watch between Will & Huw.

I think Richard’s going to be getting a sore neck, looking around for Sarah, well done, you looked good and it was a PB as well, with Adam only a second behind you as well.

Jon Airey made me larf, rather than tell me about his ride tonight, all he could say was “You didn’t mention how hilly the Cross Ash Hilly 25 was!” Maybe I mis-sold it a little…
Jon, with a new respect for The Cross Ash Hilly

Rachel was not so happy this week, a few seconds slower, sometimes you have to take a step backwards to go forwards.  Once again, it’s not Paul Cooper’s performance on the bike that impresses, it’s the speed he gets home , shaved, showered up to the POW and has almost finished his egg & chips by time I get in there.

This week Angie did have the smile back on her face, almost a minute quicker. Majorca training camp doing the job. Mrs. Racing snake also went a bit faster, quoting to me afterwards she felt bad about catching Gerald. Now I can tell you, Gerald was over the moon with his time, it was hard to contain him.

A great big huge thanks to Will timing with Tim Newland and Dave Hall taking notes, Taff pushing With our top turn man Bill pointing you back to Ross

Next week is an exciting Old Gore 10

Rider of the night is, oh it so hard this week. Doh! It’s a 3 way tie, as there all good for differing reasons, they are Radders, just the shear improvement in time, Sarah – you looked good and at the end of the day it was a PB and Andrew Doorman, awesome fella for your first TT – keep it up.

Cross Ash Hilly

Katie ding the bizz for Hereford whs.

Not a bad turn out for the Cross Ash Hilly. With the sun coming out there were 5 on the start. At the first check at the golf course all were looking good.

From here in Katie started to go away from the chasers.

Tony was tied with Jonny at one point.

Jonny unfortunately took a wrong turn arriving back before anyone else. A shame as it would have been a close tie with him and Tony.

The Rockfield turn was the last point I could check on, I had to rush back and leave John to work out his way home.

The first person in was Katie with Tony behind, James had decided there was not enough climbing so went round the block missing the last turn and coming up Cross Ash (I think that possibly means an extra climb if reading that right). John was the last one in also looking happy with his ride.

Rider of the day has to go to Katie. Not only keeping off the chasers and for keeping on course but for also winning the race. Tony was the fastest Ross rider.
Thanks Tom for timing and marshaling and the words, with Bill in support.
1st Ross, pot hunter Tony
